Overview
DX (Direct Expansion) Unit with an Air Handling Unit (AHU) is an HVAC system where the DX coil is integrated within the AHU to directly cool or heat the air using refrigerant. Unlike chilled water AHUs, which require a separate chiller and water loop, a DX system operates with a refrigerant cycle, making it a compact and efficient solution for small to medium-sized commercial and residential buildings.

- Cooling: Inlet air dry-bulb temperature is 27°C, wet-bulb temperature is 19.5°C; inlet water temperature is 7°C with a water temperature difference of 5°C between inlet and outlet.
- Heating: Inlet air dry-bulb temperature is 15°C; hot water inlet temperature is 60°C.
Fresh Air Conditions:
- Cooling: Inlet air dry-bulb temperature is 34°C, wet-bulb temperature is 28°C; inlet water temperature is 7°C with a water temperature difference of 5°C between inlet and outlet.
- Heating: Inlet air dry-bulb temperature is -4°C; hot water inlet temperature is 60°C.
